Datawind, maker of the low-cost Aakash tablets in India, seems to be gearing up for launching a new tablet that might offer 3G .
Engadget has spotted Datawind's next tablet, the Ubislate 3G7 at the FCC. The Ubislate 3G7 tablet is expected to be a 3G enabled tablet. 2q5h15
The site has noted some of the specifications of the Datawind Ubislate 3G7 which include a 7.0-inch display. The device is said to feature dual cameras including 2-megapixel rear and front cameras. It may microSD cards, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity options. The site also claims that the new Ubislate tablet has ed the FCC test and the test report shows quad-band GPRS and tri-band HSPA for the tablet.
The report also suggests that the tablet will 4G in the US. However, the company has not confirmed anything about the device.
Meanwhile, FCC's official site also includes some of the images of the device. The front will be dominated by the 7-inch display, accompanied by a front camera while the back houses the rear camera with Ubislate branding in the middle.
In a recent survey Datawind topped India's tablet market in Q1 2013, followed by Micromax, Apple. Datawind, maker of Aakash tablet, leading the market during the quarter with q 15.3 percent share leaving behind Micromax with 12.3 percent share in of total number of units shipped.
