iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders in China have reportedly have reached about 20 million. The figures were measured since pre-order booking opened on Friday, till Monday.
According to the Tencent report, retailer Jingdong Mall (JD.com) and telecom providers in China have collectively reached 20 million pre-orders. Also, the claimed figure doesn't include pre-orders accepted by Apple and its over 6,000 resellers in China. 1a3j2r
The report notes JD.com's figure was itself about 9.49 million pre-orders till Monday morning, out of which iPhone 6 clocked over 4.66 million pre-orders and iPhone 6 Plus about 4.82 million pre-orders. Other than that, the three major mobile carriers, the China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom have reportedly processed over 10 million pre-orders collectively.
Earlier this month, the reports emerged from China had claimed that retailers and telecom operators have collectively received 2 million reservations in first 6 hours for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus booking.
In India, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus went up for pre-orders on October 7, and sources close to Apple India told NDTV Gadgets that the two new iPhone variants have received record pre-orders, with over 20,000 bookings logged by Apple authorised retailers across the country till the end of business on October 8.
Apple had sold more than 10 million of its new iPhone models globally, setting a new record for opening weekend sales of its smartphone.
"Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn't be happier," said Apple chief executive Tim Cook, adding that "we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible."
