Xiaomi's much-anticipated Mi 5 flagship smartphone is set to launch on Wednesday at an event in China. The Chinese company has also confirmed that it would have a limited media preview at
MWC 2016 in Barcelona the same day.
Merely few hours ahead of the launch, the Xiaomi Mi 5 has been listed by a third-party online retailer named XiaomiDevice (via GSMArena) which has not only listed the Xiaomi Mi 5 but has also listed the Mi 5 Plus with pricing details. 30z4j
According to the third-party retailer, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be priced at $499 (approximately Rs. 34,000) for the 16GB model while the 64GB model will cost $599 (approximately Rs. 41,000). The Mi 5 Plus is listed at $599. Of course since this is a third-party store, one cannot be certain if this will be the official launch price, whenever the Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone is unveiled in India.
As per the third-party retailer listing, the Mi 5 will feature a 5.2-inch QHD IPS display; Snapdragon 820 processor; 4GB of RAM; 16-megapixel rear camera; 8-megapixel front camera, and 16GB/ 64GB storage models. The listing adds that the smartphone will be available in Gold, White, and Black colours. The Mi 5 Plus, on the other hand, is said to pack same innards as the Mi 5. The biggest difference however is said to be the screen size, the Mi 5 Plus is likely to feature a 5.7-inch QHD display.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 has been so far rumoured to come in S8 smartphone.
A recent retail packaging leak had tipped that the Mi 5 will feature a 5.15-inch full-HD display and will be powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 820 processor. The purported retail package sticker of the Mi 5 smartphone also added that the device will be backed by a 3000mAh battery and will sport a USB Type-C port. The smartphone was listed to pack a 16-megapixel rear camera alongside a 4-megapixel front camera.
