The Samsung Cloud service for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge is available through a new software update, which s report (via Sammobile) is currently rolling out in Italy. The update is around 152MB in size and also includes the Android security patch for the month of August as well as performance enhancements for NFC and Bluetooth.
Samsung Cloud offers s 15GB of free storage space. The company introduced its cloud storage by describing it as an enhancement of its Smart Switch feature. The Smart Switch feature allows s to transfer data from their old devices to new devices.
The Samsung Cloud service is expected to backup the entire phone and allow easy transfer of data, apps and settings between devices. The service is also expected to rollout for Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus, and Galaxy Note 5 in the near future.
Samsung has not provided many details about its cloud service and is likely to make some big developments in the coming months if its recent acquisition of US cloud services firm Joyent for KRW 185.3 billion ($170 million) is any indication.
