Meizu on Wednesday announced the start of registrations for its flagship MX5 smartphone in India, announcing its exclusive online sales partnership with Snapdeal. The smartphone is likely to be launched on August 26, when Meizu is holding a brand launch event in New Delhi. 3x6u3m
The Chinese smartphone maker has not yet announced the price of the smartphone in India. It is worth noting that the smartphone was launched in China in June.
The MX5 features a metal body created using 5-step anodising process and the company touts that the new physical home button is ideal for one-hand operation. Notably, the new physical home button also doubles as fingerprint scanner.
It features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Super Amoled display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It offers a pixel density of 441ppi. The company detailed that the Super Amoled display on the MX5 smartphone adapted the same technology as Xiaomi Mi Note.
Meizu's new MX5 smartphone packs MediaTek's recently launched 64-bit Helio X10 octa-core processor (Cortex-A53) clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU. The handset runs Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Flyme 4.5 OS and s dual-SIM (Nano-SIM cards) with both the SIMs ing 4G.
The Meizu MX5 sports a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor, laser autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. The rear camera can record videos at 4K resolution. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture also on board. Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, and Micro-USB.
The smartphone is backed by a 3150mAh battery and s quick charging via the company's mCharge technology that can charge up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. It packs a gravity sensor, IR proximity sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and digital com. It measures 149.9x74.7x7.6mm and weighs 149 grams.
