The dual-SIM (Micro) Intex Indie 5 runs Android 7.0 out-of-the-box, and sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with Dragontrail Glass, 2.5D curved glass, pixel density of 294ppi, and 16.7 million colours. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC, coupled with 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage. Storage is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).

In of optics, the Intex Indie 5 bears a single 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera sensor with LED flash, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera LED selfie flash. Features of the phone's camera include HDR, beautification mode, and panorama.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi with WLAN, Bluetooth v4.0, USB with OTG, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is a 4,000mAh battery under the hood. Sensors onboard the Intex Indie 5 include ambient light sensor, gravity sensor, and proximity sensor. The smartphone measures 146.5x72.2x10.1mm and weighs 162 grams.
