Google will release the next build of Android OS - thought to be the recently spotted Android 5.1 Lollipop - in March, as per an
HTC executive.
According to HTC's VP of Product Management, Mo Versi, a maintenance release (MR) update for Android is due from launched in Indonesia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. 3h3e6h
Replying to a HTC One (M7) GPE (Google Play Edition) about a fix for a button lights bug, Versi tweeted saying that "It'll be tied to Google's next MR, which is in March."
So far, Google hasn't officially announced anything about Android 5.1, and the changes it is expected to bring to the OS. All we have seen is some tipped changes from the Android One smartphone running Android 5.1 Lollipop in purported live images, which include tweaked quick settings toggles for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, an added arrow sign which on tapping opens up a list without leaving the quick settings, and more.
OK Google issue, and other minor changes and bug fixes.
The Android 5.1 Lollipop build has also been Nexus 6.
With a few Nexus devices already running the OS version, it was and still can be speculated that the Google will announce the official factory images and OTA updates for the Nexus lineup soon, which could be March - as Versi points out.
