Facebook for Android and iOS Brings New Multiple Photo Sharing Options 30564v

Facebook on Monday upgraded its Android and iOS apps to enable s to share multiple photos on the social network in a single post, as part of the new collage layout. 175b3w

The updated Facebook apps for iOS are scheduled to roll out later in the day, and are currently not listed on the India-versions of the App Store and Google Play.

The new Facebook apps for Android and iOS will let s choose the order in which multiple images will be visible to friends once ed, listing the order in a number format. After choosing the images, s would be able to see a preview of the post, and also "write an introduction for the story, and add captions to individual photos."

The Facebook blog post also explains that s, right before finalising and tapping on the 'Post' button, can also rearrange the images with a simple drag and drop. Once the images have been posted, the er's friends would see the images in a new collage-style instead of an horizontal group of photos, with the first few featured more prominently. Once friends click an image, they will be shown the multiple photos in the order the er has specified.

"This is a culmination of all the work we've done in the last year around storytelling," stated Rose Yao, Facebook's Product Manager for photos, to Mashable. "It's not just about the weddings and big trips. It's about the silly daily moments, too."

Earlier this month, Facebook rolled out a new Facebook app shows the same collage-style design mentioned above in the Photos section and in the new s tab, enlarging the most-liked images among them.

Last month, Facebook had updated the News Feed to show more timely stories from Friends and Pages. One part of the update had included the way Facebook will show timely content higher-up in the News Feed based on trending topics. The second part of the update was based on the liking or commenting on a post.
